Welcome. For family and friends who are curious about what happens to all those photos I take, here are some galleries of some of my favourites.Feel free to leave some feedback. Open a gallery and then click on a pic. It will open and give you the choice of what size you want to see it in. Also, if you would like a particular photo, let me know.

For the technically curious out there, the camera is a Nikon D-7000 using a Nikon 18-200, a Tokina 11-17mm, Sigma 17-50mm, Nikon 70-200mm or a Tamron 90mm macro. Lightroom and Oloneo are the software used.

Small Worlds : A collection created one fall weekend with a macro lens. The image of the lone droplet on a blade of grass was included in a gallery show entitled Earth Matters at the Surrey Art Gallery in 2009.

The Ospreys : I discovered this mating pair in 2010 on the Fraser River and visited their nest 3 times over between late May and July 1st. Although they had eggs in the nest, it appeared that none hatched and they were off the nest but still in the area. They were interesting to watch from a distance...one would stay on the eggs while the other hunted. They would switch off every hour with the returning bird bringing a small fish back to snack on while on watch duty. Now its 2011 and the pair are back to try again.

Mt. Baker, Washington : Arrived on the ridge between Mt. Baker and Mt. Shuksan in the Cascade mountain range of Washington State at about 3:00 PM intending to photograph the meteor shower. That was much more challenging that we expected, but the scenery more than made up for it. An annual event, perhaps?

Larch Meadows on Mt. Frosty : These were taken on October 8, 2011 on the north ridge of Mt. Frosty which is located in Manning Park, B.C. Partner in Crime David and I hiked to about the 6,800' level to get to this spot. The snow you see is new and the temperature was around zero all afternoon. The colour of the needles on the larches is green until fall when they quickly turn golden. Once they get hit with the first big storm, the needles fall off so the opportunity to get this colour is short.UPDATE: I had so much fun on October 8 that I went back on Oct 15th. Same gorgeous views, but now with 6 inches of new powdery snow!

Saanich Peninsula - July 2012 : THERE ARE THREE PAGES TO THIS. The first page and a half of these were taken over a couple of days at Butchart Gardens, near Sidney, B.C. This was a limestone quarry way back when. Once the quarry was cleaned out, the owners turned it into a huge garden. Butchart Gardens is now a national historic site. Hey Kim S...I was thinking of you while I was making these. I hope you can get here once day!! The rest were taken over the rest of our vacation on Saanich Peninsula, northeast of Victoria, B.C.
